Crystal Steel Fabricators, Inc., a leading provider of structural and miscellaneous fabricated steel
to the Mid-Atlantic Region, announced today that one of its projects has been selected by the American Institute for Steel Construction (AISC), the governing trade organization for steel fabricators, to be the cover story of the February issue of its trade journal, Modern Steel Construction (MSC).
"Being the cover story of MSC is truly an honor," said Jeff Urdan, a Vice-President at Crystal Steel, "it reflects the many unique aspects of this project, and will put Crystal Steel's name in front of everyone in the industry as a leading fabricator."
Liberty National is a golf course being developed on a brownfield site in Jersey City, NJ. The course is transforming an old industrial site into a destination for recreation and rejuvenation within minutes of the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan. The course clubhouse is where Crystal Steel got involved.
"The clubhouse is a work of art in steel," said Chris Christoforou, the engineer of record from Thornton-Tomasetti. "This was a fast-track project with an exceptionally complicated design, making steel the only real choice for the structure."
