Part of a landmark public transit expansion, connecting Dulles International Airport with the Washington DC Metro system, Crystal Steel provided miscellaneous and ornamental metals including the visual centerpiece canaopies for each station along the new route as part of a five year, "fast track" project.

Maryland House and Chesapeake House

210 ft long, 90 ton lattice trusses are the centerpiece of this job enabling soaring ceilings. Within this environment counter supports, stainless steel vanities and covers, aluminum door plates, aluminum trellicework for food vendors and stainless outside rails at stairs all were components of the finished job.

Pittsburgh Port Authority - North Shore Connector

Three subway stations that connect the north shore of the Allegheny River and its sports stadiums to downtown Pittsburgh. The Port Authority dug a tunnel under the river to connect downtown with the stations on the North side of the river. The structural package at platforms included an elevated platform at the football stadium, and underground structures at the baseball stdium and "Gateway" station.

Septa 69th Street

Laser fused stainless steel structure with a #6 fine grain finish. This project included stainless steel decking and coordinated glass support connections for 3 main stainless steel structures.

Ballston Quarter Pedestrian Bridge

Marcy Avenue Station

Project included large, multi-floor galvanized staircases with an integrated canopy and stainless steel railing and fence enclosures as well as new stainless ornamental platform railings and light post supports. A large structural retrofit was done to support a platform extension with a lead shoring system to allow the trains to remain operational while the structural remediation was being completed.
